Mutli-device roll out for Singapore Airlines, one of the world’s most respected travel brands, including sophisticated apps for iOS and Android smartphones, Apple Watch and iOS and Android tablets.

With one of the highest multi-device usage rates in Singapore from across the Asia Pacific region, Singapore Airlines’ apps for smartphones, the Apple Watch and tablets combine rich functionality with a user-friendly focus and contemporary design to offer an engaging digital traveller experience across multiple devices. See below for some highlights of the apps:

Personalised Experience

Smartphone app features include a contextual homepage that displays the most relevant information about upcoming trips. A ‘My Trips’ section keeps necessary information such as flight dates and booking references at the customer’s fingertips.

The app provides contextual imagery based on destinations searched and upcoming trips. Panoramic photos have also been infused into the design layout to render a modern and sleek look.

Extending to Wearables and Tablet

Singapore Airlines was one of the first airlines on the Apple Watch. The Watch app includes features such as Glance View, incorporating trip reminders and up-to-date information including when counters are ready for check-in.

With the highest multi device usage in Singapore from across the Asia Pacific region, the airline’s tablet app brings all of the rich functionality of its smartphone apps to iOS and Android tablet devices. The tablet app includes integration of the Singapore Airlines’ loyalty programme, destination and travel guides, a contextual homepage and the ability to view the latest ‘Fare Deals’.

In-flight Entertainment

The tablet app intelligently integrates with Singapore Airlines’ in-flight entertainment system to enable passengers to enjoy a personalised in-flight entertainment experience direct from their own devices. Prior to boarding, travellers can access the app via their tablet to view movie trailers and schedule their favourite films, music and TV shows in advance of their flight. Once on-board, the companion app links with the seatback screens, allowing Singapore Airlines’ guests to continue their KrisWorld experience by viewing their entertainment choices on their personal device and enlisting additional IFE options as needed.

The companion app is the first of its kind to integrate fully with the Panasonic in-flight entertainment system, providing travellers with greater control over their IFE experience. Travellers can use their tablets as a remote control to pause, play, or skip through IFE content. The app can also be used as a second screen, enabling them to browse the media library and access real-time information on the flight progress and flight path, without needing to interrupt their movie.
