BCD Travel scoops two top international awards for TripSource

28 August 2018: BCD Travel recently picked up two industry-leading awards for TripSource, their digital travel platform developed in partnership with Travelport Digital. The trip management platform was the Gold Winner in the travel category at The Stevie International Business Awards 2018, having already taken home the Platinum award for Best Mobile App Design at the Best Mobile App Awards earlier this year.

TripSource is designed to service BCD Travel’s clients, helping them to stay organized, informed and productive when on the road. It provides detailed itineraries, departure information, flight notifications, risk alerts, booking and more. TripSource was one of the elite winners among the 3,900 nominations received across the Stevie International Business Awards categories this year.

Following the award successes, Will Pinnell, VP of Digital and Global Product Strategy at BCD Travel commented: “The awards that TripSource has won mean a great deal to us, as it means that we’re being recognized not just by our travelers and clients, but by those in the industry.”

Available on iPad, iPhone, Android and Web, TripSource is aimed at business travelers with busy schedules who have little time to worry about travel disruptions or delays. TripSource takes the hassle out of business travel by keeping travelers up-to-date on all flight disruptions or delays as well as enabling self-service, messaging and duty of care capabilities.

“Any time we can make it easier for the traveler to reduce friction in the travel process, we try to do that and we think the TripSource app does this really well,” said Mr. Pinnell. “Travelport Digital has continued to help us reduce the friction travelers face as they make their way through the journey and we’re really pleased with what we’ve seen.”

Travelport Digital has worked with BCD Travel on the TripSource platform since it launched back in 2013, starting off as an itinerary management app and evolving into a communications, booking and self-service platform. It is available in five languages: English, French, German, Portuguese and Spanish.

TripSource showcases excellent design and usability thanks to the strong emphasis Travelport Digital places on both interactive and visual aspects to ensure a cohesive, clear and engaging experience. The user experience was developed using an agile development methodology, allowing regular usability testing and design iteration.
